What is Summit for Action?
Summit for Action is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing equity and justice in conservation, outdoor recreation, and environmental stewardship. We bring together changemakers, advocates, and organizations from across sectors to collaborate, learn, and take meaningful action toward a more inclusive and sustainable future.
Summit for Action began in 2019 as an event for thought-provoking discussions and solutions-based recommendations for Justice, Equity, Diversity, Accessibility and Inclusion in the Denver Metro Area. Our flagship event, the Summit for Action, is more than a conference—it's a movement-building space where community voices, lived experiences, and expert insights converge. Through dynamic panels, workshops, and roundtable discussions, we create brave spaces for honest dialogue and collective problem-solving. Since its inception, Summit for Action has grown from an annual event into a dynamic and expanding ecosystem of community leaders, instigators, researchers, policymakers, facilitators, and practitioners across the U.S. and Canada who work collaboratively toward solving some of society's most pressing challenges.
Founded to create space for honest dialogue and transformative work, the Summit has evolved into so much more than an annual gathering. Today, our initiatives include interactive workshops, a Community of Practice, public education events, and even a Kiki Ball that fuses joy and justice through celebration and cultural expression. These efforts are all rooted in our mission: to engage communities and center those most impacted by environmental injustice in the movement for change.
Our vision is to be a catalyst for action, and we have developed a model over the years that encourages peer-to-peer learning and inspires collective action to drive social change. Join us in our mission to foster a more equitable world by facilitating stimulating dialogue and creating impactful cross-sector partnerships.
